Happy Birthday to me!

Good morning everyone!
  Today is my b'day and today I am happy to celebrate another year of life. I'd also like to wish my son James a very happy b'day and another deviant, Athenafire, a very happy B'day as well!

  Today is a good day to live. I have been blessed with some very deep insight that enlightens what I do. Every person is a gift and has a particular gift to share with the world. Part of my personal philosophy is 'Tikkun Olam' (heal the world). I believe each person has a special way of contributing to that healing. Some can be there w/o asking questions. Others can say just the right words, others can sit in the silence etc. For my part, I pray that I can give in a way that heals. I know I can't do this alone so I rely on my Highest Power to enable me to do this. It is His grace in which I stand and it is in His grace that I move and have my being. Oh yes, I need to take the steps and do the foot work. There isn't a free ride. I can't just sit back and wait for a 'rapture' of sorts. I need to occupy my space by doing that which blesses others and adds to the healing of the world. The Buddhists have an 8 fold path of righteousness and one of them is 'right livelihood'. I want whatever I do to earn a living to also bless the world with healing. Thanks to so many people who became doctors and other s in the helping professions, they have lived this out.

  So to all of you wonderful artists who have inspired me and blessed me by your art, thank you!! Thanks for your encouragement and healing. I especially want to thank my daughters for encouraging me to take the risk to post my art. You know who you are!! In coming here to DA, I have experienced a lot of healing and have honed my talents and learned new things as well. So my goal for this year is to post art that is conducive to healing and encouragement and life. Today is a good day to live.
